3. Ground Movement Procedures

3.1 General provisions

Air Control (AIR) is responsible for all aerodrome movements on all aerodrome movement as well as runways and their associated taxiways. Departing aircraft are given Start-up and Taxi instructions. Arriving aircraft are assigned a stand and instructed to taxi as appropriate.

3.2 Departure Taxi procedures

Assuming Delma is designed for a Class C Aerodrome, no pushback procedures are conducted at Delma, rather Start-up and Taxi procedures take place.

Aircraft requesting Taxi that are not squawking their assigned transponder code shall be instructed to hold position and squawk the correct code; movement of such aircraft is prohibited.

Example

Controller: A6-CTV, Delma Tower, Taxi straight ahead, hold short runway 35.

Pilot: Taxi straight ahead, hold short runway 35, A6-CTV.

Note

Conditional Taxi instructions may also be issued if an aircraft is taxing infront of another waiting for taxi

Example

Controller: A6-CGH, Follow the Dash 8, hold short runway 35.

Pilot: Follow the Dash 8, hold short runway 35, A6-CGH.
